  STATEMENT OF FAITH

The following shall be the doctrinal standard of John 9 Ministries:

The Trinity:
We believe in the tri-unity of God: that the three Divine Persons—the Father, Son and Holy Spirit—have existed from eternity past as the one true God. While each is distinct, they share equally in all of God's unchanging attributes.

The Bible's Inspiration:
We believe that only the 39 books of the Old Testament and the 27 books of the New Testament are “God-breathed” Scripture. We believe that inspiration extends to all parts of the Bible, as well as to the individual words. We believe the Holy Spirit superintended the human authors to use words in their vocabulary to communicate God’s revelation to man. We believe all Scripture is without error and is the final authority for the believer in all areas of faith and practice.

The Person of Christ:
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is both fully eternal God and fully sinless Man, one unique God-Man with two distinct natures. We believe God the Son, in the fullness of time, became human through the virgin conception and virgin birth, as the Holy Spirit supernaturally impregnated the Virgin Mary, making Him a physical descendant of David, Abraham and Adam. We believe Jesus Christ had no sin nature, that He was tempted as we are, yet remained sinless.

The Work of Christ:
We believe that Jesus Christ, came into the world to save sinners from their sins and from the results of sin, including physical and spiritual death. We believe that He perfectly obeyed and fulfilled the Law of God, perfectly revealed God to man, and died as an complete and final substitutionary sacrifice on the Cross to pay for man’s sin. We believe His body was buried and that He bodily arose three days later in a glorified body. We believe that He gave clear, objective evidence of His Resurrection to more than 500 witnesses before He visibly and bodily ascended into heaven. We believe Christ will return bodily at the end of this age.

Salvation:
We believe every human being, except Christ, is a sinner by nature and choice, spiritually dead in trespasses and sins. Thus, every person needs to be saved from his or her sins and God's judgment. We believe salvation is by God’s grace through faith in Christ alone. God’s gift of eternal salvation and the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit requires no human effort, works or additional steps following faith. Obedience, good works and the fruit of the Spirit are the result of salvation, not its cause. Genuine faith implies true repentance from sin and confidence in the Word of God which reveals Jesus Christ

Heaven and Hell:
We believe Scripture clearly teaches that heaven or hell are the ultimate destination of all human beings depending on their relationship to Christ. We believe that Christianity God is patient with mankind and is not willing that any should perish, but that all should repent. However, those who reject His love, offered through Christ's death and resurrection, will, because of their own personal choice not to trust in Christ, eternally suffer God’s wrath in the Lake of Fire. Those who believe in Christ will be spend eternity in the bliss of heaven.

Works of Obedience.
We believe that, although salvation is not earned by works, Christ has commanded us to do works of righteousness as a manifestation of our faith and obedience. It is the responsibility of those who are saved to do good works in service to God and man, including ministering to the helpless, persons with disabilities and their caregivers, and others in need of counseling, assistance, food, clothing, shelter and other physical and spiritual necessities, which is one of the primary reasons for the existence of John 9 Ministries. We also believe that Christians, regardless of denominational distinctions, should work together in every way their conscience and Scripture allows, to communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to live holy lives and to love and serve one another, as long as the Lord grants them life.
